What is an ad swap?

An ad swap, as the term implies, is an advertisement swap.  Internet marketers swap ads with one another to increase sales or to build up their email marketing list.

How can you do it?

Step 1:  As an Internet marketer, the first step is to find sites or blogs with which you can swap ads with.

In selecting the site to do business with, you should consider the niche.  You should not swap ads with a competitor or with a site that has a totally different topic.  You can swap ads with a site that complements yours.  In doing this you do not only increase your product exposure but you also build your email marketing list.  This is because your product is the extension of the other marketer’s product. An example is swapping your money making ads with an ad about earning through Adsense; they complement each other.

 

Step 2: Select an Internet marketer that has almost the same number of email clients as yours.

Select sites which must have, more or less, the same number of visitors as yours. 

 

 

Step 3:  The ads should be similarly positioned, and with the same site exposure. 

This would ensure that your ad swap is beneficial to both parties. As for email ad swaps, the email list of your swapping partner should equal yours. You can now send each other’s ads to clients in your own emailing marketing list.  This would build both your emailing marketing businesses.

 

Step 4:  Send relevant ads

Through your list, you can advertise the other marketer’s ads as he will also promote your ads through his/her email marketing business list.  This will expand both of your lists because of additional customers coming in.

 

Cultivate a good relationship with your clients; email marketing is a long-term business.  Cultivate social skills and conduct honest business with your clients. If you are able to do this, then you can expect repeated patronage of your product.
