B2B Email Marketing Challenge No 5 and Solutions: Low Conversion Rate

Once you have setup your email marketing campaign and your opt-in list, the next most important thing to do is to prevent low conversion rate. This low conversion rate happens when people subscribe to your opt-in list but fail to make any sales transaction. Although it is nice to know that you have quite a good number of people to send your collateral to, it simply cannot stop there. After all, the point of your email marketing campaign is generating sales leads and closing them too.

So how do you prevent low conversion rate and focus your email marketing in order to generate high conversion rates instead? Here are some practical tips you can follow:

Plan a marketing schedule – You need to be fresh so you can stay interesting. Plot out a quarterly theme for your marketing and ad campaigns so that people will not perceive you as just same old thing through and through. This is especially true when you are selling certain products. Sometimes, you need to adjust to the season (Christmas, Easter, Valentine Day, etc.) in order to capture your sales targets. You need to be creative without losing touch of your branding. This is also a great way of instilling recall from among your target market.

Make sure you are free from being flagged as SPAM – Ensure that your subscribers receive the collateral sent out. Check if your messages do not get flagged as SPAM or junk mail. Do this regularly so you can immediately make touch ups if they do get flagged.

Use the right keywords and furnish a strong copy– When it comes to email marketing, search engine optimization is very important. You need to be able to understand what your market wants to know and be at the forefront of their information hunt. Readers take only a few seconds to know if what they are reading answer their needs. So aside from just keywords, you might also want to provide them with informative content leading up to your brand. Always present hard facts and do away with sweeping statements.

Create testimonials – People can get hesitant when it comes to making a purchase, especially if it is for a new product or service. If you already have a satisfied group of customers, take time to get their feedback and post it on your website or even in your marketing collateral. This way, people will know that you are a legitimate business and that you have a satisfied list of clientele.
