You are being flagged as SPAM – You can actually use free software online to check if your collateral is being flagged as SPAM or not. Some email addresses may be too strict when it comes to filtering what people receive in their inbox. It may be the way your keywords are used in the content. Keep in mind that most people will not bother to sift through their junk mail to see if legit mails have accidentally been diverted there unless they are prompted by the sender.
You do not have engaging content – Once you have motivated people to join your list, remember that that is just the beginning of your email marketing campaign. You need to keep them engaged and actually looking forward to the information you send. Review your current collateral and try to make a quick survey about its creativity. Evaluate how long you have been using the said collateral and determine whether you remain up to date with the information or if they have become stale already.
You have to make a new copy – Take time to actually read what your collateral says. Have you done some proofreading before you actually sent these items out on your list? You need to have words that actually relate to your target market. Do not use words that your market cannot even understand. Make it light yet engaging. Keep your sentences short yet concise. If you need to update your copy then by all means, do so. Remember that your text and image work together to make a compelling marketing collateral.
Above all, always keep your email marketing in check. Update it on a regular basis to make sure that you still capture the interest of your audience. You need to stay fresh and informative. If you begin to dwindle when it comes to impact, then you need to start making changes to stay noticed.
